G3 Argyros scored another USF Juniors Presented by Continental Tire podium finish for the Jay Howard Driver Development team at Road America.CARMEL, Ind. – The penultimate USF Juniors Presented by Continental Tire race event of the season at Road America is complete, leaving just Portland International Raceway on the 2024 schedule. Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD), one of the largest competing teams, took home a podium and a handful of top-10 finishes in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin from its six-car lineup.
In race one, Timothy Carel finished highest for the JHDD crew, crossing the finish line in sixth, followed by Michael Boyiadzis creeping just outside the top 10 in 11th. It was G3 Argyros who brought home the only trophy of the weekend in race two, initially finishing in fourth before post-race penalties promoted him to second. This also bumped Carel up and into a top-10 finish.
After starting third in race one and second in race two with bad luck in both events, Liam McNeilly redeemed himself with a fourth-place result in race three, less than a second shy of the top step of the podium. Carel claimed another top-10 in race three, with Michael Boyiadzis making a valiant effort from 17th to 11th at the finish line. Newcomers Griffin Yellin and JT Hoskins improved their starting positions in all three races over the weekend, gaining experience along the way.
“We’ve seen some amazing progress from our USF Juniors drivers this year,” said Team Owner Jay Howard. “Proud G3 Argyros got to snag a podium this weekend; it was well deserved. The focus now shifts on finishing strong in the final event at Portland next weekend.”
Jay Howard Driver Development’s USF Pro 2000 and USF2000 drivers will pick back up alongside USF Juniors at Portland International Raceway next weekend for their final event of the season, August 23-25.
