After an incredible season, it could not have been more fitting to bring the championships to a head than at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. In the first USF2000 race of the weekend, Nico Jamin validated his place as the frontrunner for the championship by winning in a dominant fashion. He followed it up with a clean sweep of the weekend winning both races.
Santiago Urrutia became the "Pride of Uruguay" as he clinched the Pro Mazda Championship in his first race of the weekend, with a throng of fans in the stands.
