Dawsonville, GA – VRD Racing is proud to announce that Colin Aitken will join its USF Juniors team for the remainder of the 2025 season. Aitken brings with him a record of success in regional and national karting competitions and now steps into open-wheel racing as he begins the next phase of his motorsports career.

Aitken began karting just three years ago, quickly rising through the ranks of the L206 Senior Light, Medium, and Heavy classes. His natural talent and competitive drive have earned him multiple wins at top-tier karting events across the country, making him one of the most promising young drivers in North America.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining the VRD USF program and take this next big step in my racing journey,” said Aitken. “This opportunity means everything to me, and I’m fully committed to putting in the work, discipline, and focus it takes to succeed at this level. I’m ready to give it my all—on and off the track.”

The addition of Aitken comes at a pivotal point in the USF Juniors season. With two race weekends and six races remaining, VRD Racing currently sits second in the team championship standings with 270 points. VRD drivers Oliver Wheldon and João Vergara remain in the hunt for the driver title, ranked 4th and 2nd, respectively.

Team Manager, Jacob Loomis, expressed his excitement for Colin’s addition to the team, “We are looking forward to having Colin join the team for the rest of the 2025 season. Even with the limited testing he has done, he’s proven to us that he has excellent talent and continues to improve every session. He will be a great addition to have, and I’m excited to work with him for his first race weekend at Road America.”

VRD Racing is preparing for the upcoming tripleheader at Road America (July 24–26), followed by the season finale at Portland International Raceway (August 7–10). Aitken will make his series debut at Road America, where he’ll gain valuable seat time on a high-speed, technical circuit—ideal for accelerating his adaptation to single-seaters.
